What is a Freephone 0800 number ?
A Freephone 0800 number is a telephone number that allows the person calling to ring without incurring any call charges. Currently this is only guaranteed when calling from a UK landline telephone, where as calling from a mobile phone will incur call charges from most mobile phone providers currently excluding BT Mobile and Giffgaff networks. Hopefully this situation will change once new regulations are released by Ofcom the UK government regulator in late 2013.
How do 0800 numbers work ?
