What Members can't accidentally dial

Outbound calls to 084, 087, 09, 118 numbers are blocked by default. These routes carry premium-rate surcharges (a few pence to several pounds per minute) that we won't pass through silently. Calls originating from public payphones are also blocked.

If you genuinely need outbound access to a specific destination — say a supplier helpline that only takes 0871 calls — we'll enable it for you on request, with the exact wholesale rate confirmed in writing first.

* Routed via an alternative wholesale carrier where it beats BT's rate. The price shown is still the exact wholesale cost we pay, passed through unmarked-up. Calls without an asterisk travel via BT Wholesale. Either way, your guarantee is the same: you never pay more than the BT Wholesale rate for any destination.

Why are EU mobile rates so low?
EU regulation now caps mobile termination charges across member states, so calling a French or Spanish mobile costs roughly the same as a landline — under a penny a minute at wholesale. We pass that straight through.
Why do China and the Philippines show a connection charge?
On those routes the cheapest wholesale carrier charges a small fixed fee per call plus a low per-minute rate, rather than a higher flat rate. We pass the structure through exactly as we're billed. For any call longer than about half a minute, it still works out cheaper.
US mobiles
The United States bills mobile and landline numbers identically, so there's no separate mobile row — 2.15p/min covers both.
“Mobile (from)”
Mobile pricing varies by network within a country. The rate shown is the cheapest mobile network; other networks in the same country may cost slightly more. The full per-network breakdown is in the downloadable rate card.
Some destinations are dearer than others — that's wholesale reality
Countries like Turkey, South Africa and Saudi Arabia genuinely cost more to terminate calls into, on every carrier. We show the real number rather than hiding it, because at-cost means at-cost in both directions.
Destination not listed?
Most other destinations are available — the full rate card covers them. Some high-fraud-risk destinations (premium-rate ranges, satellite networks and a small list of countries heavily used in telephone fraud) are blocked by default on every line to protect you from PBX hacking and toll fraud. If your business genuinely needs one of them, contact us and we'll unblock it for your account after a quick check.
Rates move with the wholesale market
Carrier rates change periodically; when our cost changes, the pass-through rate changes with it — down as well as up. Last verified June 2026.
